Well I can’t believe I’ve been away from KC for about a week now and in about a week will depart for Spain. Before I turn all of my posts over to my adventures across the pond, I thought I’d share some of my favorite things about the City of Fountains. So here’s a list of some of my favorite KC things…

A Guide to Kansas City Barbecue
If there’s one thing that Kansas City’s known for, it’s definitely barbecue (well also jazz and baseball – go Royals!). I mean hey, in late May of this year, Travel + Leisure named Kansas City as America’s number one city for barbecue.
Piropos: A Taste of Argentina in Kansas City
After a long 16 hour drive, my mom and I finally made it to Kansas City. I’m just so glad to finally be back in this city and, this time, to have a chance to explore the many great restaurants and shops, museums and sports teams it houses.
My family decided to have a belated birthday celebration for me, so after hours of research, I decided that we should check out Piropos. This restaurant is in Northern Kansas City (with a great view of the skyline) and drew my attention, not because it’s on a million lists as one of the best restaurants in Kansas City (including USA Today’s), but because it’s an Argentine steakhouse.
A Must Eat at MU: Shakespeare’s Pizza
There are many great eats in downtown Columbia, home to The University of Missouri. But my mother and I stopped in Columbia on our way to Kansas City just so that we could eat at this great place: Shakespeare’s Pizza. If you’re ever in Missouri for any reason, you have to make the drive to Columbia (roughly in the middle of the state) just to visit.
The pizza is fantastic, but even better is the atmosphere of the restaurant. It feels so nostalgic with its old brick walls and antique decorations like old Coca-Cola memorabilia and an old motorcycle on the wall.
